About Us

ManSha was founded in 2013 by Rupa Nathwani in Dubai with the aspiration to create an environment for children, of all ages, to experience the richness of the Indian Arts through the medium of dancing. The school re-opened in 2015 in Leicester with two students and since then, the school has multiplied in numbers.

ManSha, although a combination of Rupa’s Grandmothers names, also translates to “Wish”, as it was her wish to combine her interests and expertise and form her own professional Indian Dance School.

About Rupa

Rupa has always been passionate about dance & drama and after trying Western dance styles she was in search of something deeper and started Kathak training with the Centre for Indian Classical Dance, under the guidance of Nilima Devi. She later travelled to Mumbai where she met Guru, Shila Mehta at Nupur Zankar Dance Academy.

Rupa graduated from Roehampton University with a Masters in South Asian Dance Studies in 2009 and thereafter became a qualified teacher by completing her Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in 2011 at Leicester University.

Rupa is influenced by Indian classical dance and culture so the dance school encourages their students to connect to the richness of these styles.
